What The Water Tells Me [Original Soundtrack]

by Good Guy Collective

/
1.
In the beginning, you know, you were all the ocean, and the ocean was you. You were little cells, simple and humming with life. The ocean told you how to live; it gave you salt and food, everything you ever needed to keep floating in the water. It gave you energy. Gave you the strength to change, to grow, to become something else. But it has been so long, and you have grown so tall, and still, salt runs in your veins, and still, the veins of the land are water, and still, every cell is an ocean in itself.

(Verse 1) Everyday all day I be playing ball Ah and I’m a see the world I insure Call me all state. Ride a whole lot of miles up Broadway Until the see the shore with the waves were the sharks stay. Ah, and I been doing this broad day. Writing lyrics then I mix em like parfait. Part great, part elegant and part stray from the real world so I’m headed where the stars hang up. So winning is must, Even though the world tripping Trying to fit me in them cuffs. Yeah, so I kill em with love Until they have to fit me in a tux. Grown up! They say that life sux I don’t really see it. All I see is plane trips on my way to Egypt Eating, mad shrimp never going vegan and when I leave I’m headed to another region Going on a (Chorus) World tour Wilding out jumping off stage catch me on a World Tour Nothing finna get get up in the way catch me on a World Tour Riding with the fam all day catch me on a World Tour Riding with it going with Wave

(Chorus) What they teaching you? Is it right, is it wrong? What they teaching you? Is making you strong? What they teaching you? Do you following along with what they teaching you? What they teaching you? What they teaching you? Is it growing your wealth? What they teaching you? Is it bringing you health? What they teaching you? Are you good with yourself From what they teaching you? What they teaching you? (Verse 1) I learned ropes I learned rules I learned to ask for help. I learned to paint inside the lines I learned to doubt myself. I learned tricks I learned laws I learned it all from folk that traveled here and far to me show things I never saw. Somehow I took a fall from the knowledge gained. So many opposing things slipped inside of my brain. It taught me big & small, left & right short & tall, black & white and it all shoved me in these 4 walls called reality. In the land free, but lately I been feeling like a fish out the sea. Up in class working to breath While the teacher trying to tell how to climb up a tree. So what they teaching me??

(Chorus) The rain don’t feel like it used to, When it falls on the window I get all sentimental Like I lost sometime I was so used to. And It me a little when I think of it. So I can’t get away like I used to I’m stuck room rain drops on the roof. Afraid that I just might lose you Yeah, just might loose you. (Verse 1) When duty calls I gotta do the job In the way you better move aside. My momma told she was deep inside, so I feel alive when scuba dive. When I was young I used to want fly Now I got to work 9 to 5. Make some Money with older guys. But I got a feeling that told me lies Used to boat ride with the most high Merely merely floating down the streams Set sail, catch the breeze that’s the time that you Tell Me things and I would write it in my note book. Cliff notes to the whole dream. Kept it confidential so you want look Close shut not seen. I’m so afraid to show my heart. There’s so many bruises there’s so many scares. So built me a damn as big as my room to cover it all. When you knock at my door I don’t hear it at all.

(Verse) Sister sister hate to the kill the mood, but I’ve really been stressing I had questions yesterday in school, but I learned my lesson. Teacher taught me things I never knew like perfection now this Monster in head done grew, and I confess that feel the same. Now my dreams not as real Nothing good enough in fact But I need some dollar bills Yeah, day & night I would write They were like, chill. Cross your t’s dot your i’s Don’t believe break your stride I don’t want fall in that hole You tell me to face all my fears but maybe I follow that road. That’s perfectly paved and make me wage that pay me enough to stay home and do it all over again But something keep telling me don’t. Singing! (Chorus) I don’t want your education I don’t want to follow anymore There’s a big world in my head saying I’m yours.
